Whole School Performances

This school year, all students will participate in a whole school musical! Half the school will perform on Wednesday, April 17, 2024 and the other half of the school will perform on Thursday, April 18, 2024. These events will occur in the Colchester Performing Arts Center at Colchester High School. This year's musical is called "Pandamonium" by John Jacobson. 

In addition to these musical performances, students will also experience a week-long artist-in-residency in November, 2023!! Stay tuned for more info on that. A culminating performance will be shared at Colchester High School in the Gymnasium.  

Our last whole school performances were February, 2023: "Cookies, the Musical!" These performances were very special because there had been NO public performances since April, 2019, when PPS students performed the musical "Panda And The Moon". Back in February, 2018, students performed the musical "On With The Snow!"  It was a fun show to produce. In April 2017, students experienced an Artist-In-Residency with Stuart Paton of Burlington Taiko Drum. For all these performances, we are fortunate to use the Colchester High School Performing Arts Center and CHS Gymnasium. These events are wonderful experiences for Porters Point students and are well-attended.

In December, 2022, Colchester High School Concert Choir visited PPS and performed a few songs from their December concerts. PPS students also prepared three songs to sing along with the high schoolers:  Winter Wonderland, Let It Snow, and Frosty, the Snowman. 

Throughout the school year students also participate in whole school meetings or assemblies. These are great opportunities for students to practice proper audience etiquette, as well as prepare and perform for the school community.
